BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 6, 2025) – Wednesday morning, a crossing guard sustained injuries in a crippling pedestrian crash near College Avenue and Morning Drive.
The incident happened at about 8:00 a.m. near College Avenue and Morning Drive.
A motorist struck a crossing guard while the guard was helping students cross the street, according to reports.
Police say the crossing guard was taken to Kern Medical with a possible broken leg. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
A police spokesperson said the driver was not arrested but will “at the very least” receive a ticket for speeding. No students were injured in the collision.
