PCSO Deputies Involved in Pierce County Multi-Vehicle Accident on 176th Street and Pacific Avenue
PIERCE COUNTY, WA (February 23, 2025) – Saturday morning, a crippling multi-vehicle crash on 176th Street and Pacific Avenue led to injuries
The incident began at 10:36 a.m. after a man reported that he was being carjacked at gunpoint by 4 people on 176th Street and Pacific Avenue.
According to PCSO, the four suspects fled northbound on Pacific in a black sedan, prompting a pursuit.
During the chase, several police vehicles were damaged before an officer successfully used a PIT maneuver to stop the sedan. The driver and front passenger attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended, while the two backseat passengers cooperated and were also taken into custody.
Four PCSO deputies involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Additionally, two civilian vehicles were struck during the pursuit, leaving both drivers with minor injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the black sedan had been reported stolen. Pacific Avenue remains closed as the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol continue investigating.
