Injuries Reported in San Antonio Motorcycle Accident on 1400 Culebra Road near North Zarzamora Street

SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 10, 2023) – Tuesday night, a crippling motorcycle crash on 1400 Culebra Road near North Zarzamora Street injured 1 person.

The incident happened at about 10:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of Culebra Road, near North Zarzamora Street and Woodlawn Lake.

According to reports, as a man rode his motorcycle west at a high rate of speed without lights, he crashed with a Nissan Altima that was exiting a Valero gas station.

Also, the authorities haven’t clarified whether the motorcyclist wore a helmet at the time of the crash.

Meanwhile, responders took the man via ambulance to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was listed in critical condition.

SAPD confirmed that the Nissan driver reported to 911 and then escaped on foot without providing his information.

Then, the 22-year-old driver eventually came back 30 minutes later with family members and was subsequently arrested. He was taken into custody on a charge of failure to stop and render aid. Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed his identity.

Moreover, the San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all came to the scene.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
