Injuries Reported in Modesto Auto Accident on McHenry Avenue and Claratina Avenue

MODESTO, CA (May 14, 2023) – Friday, a crippling 2-vehicle crash on McHenry Avenue and Claratina Avenue injured 3 people.

The incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. on McHenry Avenue and Claratina Avenue.

According to reports, a man drove a 1949 Dodge Coupe north on McHenry. However, it crashed with a Honda Civic going south on McHenry, making an eastbound turn onto Claratina, revealed Modesto Police Lt. Martha Delgado.

As a result, the 51-year-old male Dodge driver remained in serious condition as of Saturday. Meanwhile, the woman driving the Honda and her 6-year-old child sustained minor injuries.

Modesto Fire Department confirmed that they airlifted the child to a children’s hospital.

Meanwhile, officers added that the incident involved a third vehicle that also was turning east onto Claratina.

However, Delgado hasn’t determined where it was concerning the Civic or to what extent it was involved. Moreover, they confirmed that no one in that vehicle suffered injuries.

The Modesto Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene.

Also, the crash led to the closure of the intersection for four hours while they investigated.

At this time, the authorities are still trying to identify who had the red light.
