RANCHO BERNARDO, CA (January 23, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a crippling 2-vehicle crash on Camino Del Norte and Paseo Montanoso injured 1 person.

The incident happened at about 1:11 p.m. at the intersection of Camino Del Norte and Paso Montanoso.

According to reports, a 24-year-old man driving an eastbound 2017 Honda failed to yield at a red light at the intersection. Then, he crashed with a 57-year-old woman driving a 2024. The crash occurred as the Toyota driver turned left onto southbound Paseo Montanoso.

As a result, an 87-year-old Toyota passenger was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. She suffered a fractured pelvis, rib fractures, and a fractured sternum, the department added.

“Traffic units were investigating a fatal collision and will assist patrol units in writing the collision report,” police revealed.

Meanwhile, the victim’s and suspect’s identities remained undisclosed. Moreover, the authorities haven’t disclosed any other injuries, and alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the crash.
