Cyclist Hospitalized After Crash on Simpson and Leon Roads in Inland Valley

Inland Valley (August 9, 2024) -On Friday, a cyclist sustained injuries in a crash on Simpson and Leon Roads

At 8:19 a.m. on Friday, three men on bicycles were traveling eastbound near the intersection of Simpson and Leon roads in an area temporarily narrowed by construction, according to Lt. Steven Rusk. 

A white pickup truck traveling alongside the cyclists left them with no space, causing one of the riders, a man in his mid-70s, to crash.

Following the incident, the cyclists reported that the pickup truck driver left the scene, Rusk said. 

The injured rider was transported to Inland Valley Hospital with a possible collarbone injury. 

Although he was wearing a helmet, he did not appear to have suffered any serious head injuries.
