Driver Critical After Crash on Palomares Road in Castro Valley

Castro Valley, CA (April 30, 2024) – On Monday afternoon, a boy died, and a driver sustained critical injuries in a crash on Palomares Road.

The incident, a single-vehicle collision, occurred around 4:20 p.m. on Palomares Road near mile marker 4.3, according to California Highway Patrol, who disclosed the details in a news release. 

A black Honda Accord, heading northbound, veered off the road and collided with a power pole.

Subsequently, the car flipped into a tree.

Authorities pronounced a male juvenile passenger dead at the scene.

Emergency services transported the driver to a hospital with major injuries.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the collision.
