1 Person Dead and 2 Hospitalized After Crash on Long and Lancaster in Houston

Houston, TX (May 30, 2024) – HPD investigated a fatal crash on Long and Lancaster.

Reportedly, the Houston Police Department (HPD) initiated a high-speed pursuit after a vehicle nearly struck a patrol car.

The incident occurred when officers observed the suspects, who appeared to be impaired, driving erratically. 

During the chase, officers noted that one of the vehicle’s windows was broken.

The pursuit, which lasted approximately two minutes, ended in tragedy when the suspects’ vehicle flipped multiple times. 

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, where one occupant was pronounced dead. 

Another individual was transported to a hospital but succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival. Two additional occupants of the vehicle remain in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. 

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the pursuit and subsequent crash. 

HPD has not released the identities of the individuals involved pending notification of their families.
