SUV Hits a Gas Meter in Mira Mesa Auto Accident on Gold Coast Drive and Black Mountain Road

MIRA MESA, CA (March 16, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a crash on Gold Coast Drive and Black Mountain Road caused a gas leak.

The incident happened at about 3:18 p.m. when two to three cars collided. Moreover, it happened on Gold Coast Drive and Black Mountain Road.

Reports confirmed that the impact severed one of the gas lines after one of the cars struck a gas meter.

“A black SUV crashed into a gas meter and exposed the gas meter line,” said SDFD Battalion Chief Erik Windsor.

Due to the incident, 20 units were evacuated from the condominium complex. However, at about 6:45 p.m., all evacuations have been lifted.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
