2 People Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Del Mar Heights Road and Carmel Canyon Road [Carmel Valley, CA]

Injuries Reported in Carmel Valley Multi-Vehicle Accident on Del Mar Heights Road and Carmel Canyon Road

CARMEL VALLEY, CA (March 16, 2023) – Wednesday morning, two people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Del Mar Heights Road and Carmel Canyon Road.

The incident happened just before 8:00 a.m. on Del Mar Heights Road and Carmel Canyon Road.

The San Diego Fire Department responded to the crash scene. Upon their arrival, they found one person trapped and had to be physically removed from one of the vehicles.

Then, responders transported one patient to Scripps Memorial Hospital. Moreover, the other driver involved was taken to Jacobs Medical Center.

According to a San Diego Police Department incident report, a 16-year-old man drove an eastbound 2016 BMW in the first lane of Del Mar Heights Road. Then, he lost control of the car and went into the westbound lanes.

Eventually, his car crashed with a Toyota Camry in the left-turn lane. Then, a Toyota Corolla stopped in another lane, police added.

The impact pushed the Camry into an 18-year-old man driving Lexus SUV.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Corolla, a 50-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries. Also, the 54-year-old female Camry driver sustained injuries.

Moreover, both the BMW and the Lexus driver suffered no injuries in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
