3 People Hospitalized After Crash on Bear Valley Road in Victorville

Victorville, CA (August 2, 2024) – On Thursday, three people sustained injuries in a crash on  Bear Valley Road.

Reportedly, a deputy from Adelanto attempted a traffic stop, which led to a pursuit and resulted in a collision where the deputy sustained minor injuries. 

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, at around 5:11 PM, deputies from the Victorville Station, along with rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a three-vehicle crash near Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive in Victorville.

Upon arrival, deputies found that the crash involved a burgundy Scion XA, a black Dodge Durango, and a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department vehicle, which was in pursuit of another vehicle. 

Officials reported that occupants of all three vehicles sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team took over the investigation. Bear Valley Road between Mesa View Drive and Monte Vista Road was closed for several hours during the investigation.

In a written statement, sheriff’s officials identified the individuals involved in the collision as Richard Reyes-Escobar, 22, a resident of Adelanto, Javier Flores, 28, a resident of Hesperia, and a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Sheriff. 

However, they did not provide additional information about the suspect involved in the pursuit or if any charges were filed.
