Passenger Critical after Crash on Airtex Drive in Harris County

Harris County, TX (December 4, 2023) – Early Monday morning, one person sustained severe injuries in a crash on Airtex Drive.

Reportedly, the crash happened along the North Freeway at Airtex but originated in Montgomery County and concluded in Harris County.

Around 1 a.m., Shenandoah Police observed a man bolting out of a pharmacy, initiating the incident. Subsequently, the man collided with a patrol car, which launched a police chase.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies later joined the pursuit, strategically deploying spike strips in various locations. The suspect eventually exited the freeway, crashing a BMW into a utility pole. 

It was at this point that investigators discovered there were two occupants in the BMW.

Law enforcement successfully apprehended the driver, who now faces charges of felony burglary of a business and felony evading in a motor vehicle.

Depending on the condition of the passenger, authorities may consider filing a murder charge in Harris County related to the accident.

The passenger remained trapped in the vehicle for an extended period and was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

An investigation is ongoing.
