49-Year Old Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Highway 25 and Highway 156 in Hollister

 
Hollister, CA (April 16, 2020) – On Tuesday morning, a crash at the intersection of Highway 25 and Highway 156 killed one motorcyclist.
 
The California Highway Patrol rushed to the scene which took place at the intersecting lanes of Highway 25 and Highway 156 on April 14.
 
According to the CHP report, the vehicles involved included a 2009 Piaggio and a 2010 Kenworth.
 
The now deceased victim was heading southbound through the intersection of Highway 25 on his 2009 Piaggio at about 10:20 a.m.
 
At the same time, the Kenworth tractor-trailer heading westbound on Highway 156 ran the red light.
 
Witnesses said the semi truck’s speed was at about 55 mph, and attempted to make the light because he could not slow down.
 
Thus, the result was a deadly collision of the two vehicles.
 
Consequently, the 49-year-old motorcycle driver from Gilroy succumbed to his injuries sustained in the accident .
 
The San Benito County Coroner’s Office is withholding the victim’s identity until the family is notified.
 
The fire department also responded to the scene and helped with the incident.

Police Investigation on Incident

 
Currently, the investigation of the crash on Highway 25 and Highway 156 is still ongoing.
