Fremont Woman Courtney Osegueda Killed Fatal Oakland Accident

 
Oakland, CA (February 27, 2021) – On Thursday, 31-year-old Courtney Osegueda of Fremont died in a tragic pedestrian accident on MacArthur Boulevard.
 
Officers responded to the crash report at about 3:25 p.m. in the 300 block area.
 
Apparently, the woman and a co-worker were crossing the road to get to their vehicle that was parked on the northern side of the street.
 
At the same time, a two-axle dump truck slowed down and waited for the two.
 
As a backup occurred, a Nissan Maxima driving eastbound crossed the double yellow lines to get past the backed-up vehicles. It struck and killed the pedestrian and drove away from the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the officers tracked down the Nissan owner, a 35-year-old Berkeley woman. Police questioned and released her pending further investigation.
 
Officers revealed the identity of the deceased as Courtney Osegueda of Fremont, California. She is survived by an eight-year-old daughter.
 
Furthermore, friends and family say they’re planning to petition the city to make that stretch of MacArthur Boulevard safer for pedestrians.
