Shailynn Batchelor Injured in Road Collision on near Douglas Street

LONGVIEW, WA (October 17, 2018) –  On Wednesday night, a woman was killed and a pregnant woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 432. The deceased victim was later identified as 21-year-old Courtney Miller from Longview.

According to officials with the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred near Douglas Street at around 8:30 PM. A gold station wagon, occupied by two women, was attempting to make a left turn off the highway onto Douglas when it was struck on the passenger side by a truck coming from the opposite direction.

Miller, who was a passenger in the station wagon, suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The pregnant woman, 23-year-old Shailynn Batchelor, and a 2-year-old child were trapped in their vehicle and had to be rescued by responding crews. Batchelor was rushed to the St. John Medical Center in critical condition and the child was flown by Life Flight to Randall Children’s Hospital. There is no update on their current medical conditions. The driver of the truck, 42-year-old Anthony Setera, was not injured in the collision.

No further details have been disclosed to the public at this time, as the investigation continues.
