Single-Engine Plane Crashes in the Mojave National Presere

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (June 28, 2019) – A couple survived a plane crash in Mojave National Preserve, before noon Sunday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the plane crashed near the unincorporated High Desert community of Ludlow, situated roughly 58 miles east of Barstow.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department officials said that the victims’ single-engine aircraft crash-landed. In addition, police stated the accident happened in the area after engine trouble. The plane’s engine lost oil pressure and stalled, which brought an emergency landing.

However, the male pilot and the female passenger did not sustain injuries in the incident. They did an at least five-hour hike to the nearest road. After that, rescue teams arrived when the pilot used a cellphone to make a call that established communication with a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department patrol helicopter.

An investigation by the authorities is on-going.

A vehicle’s check-up and maintenance are necessary factors in ensuring your safety while traveling. It is important to always see to it that the motorcycle, car, helicopter, or plane that you are riding is at its best shape before making any move.
