COSTA MESA, CA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on 405 Freeway at Bristol Street

Rider Involved in Afternoon 3-Vehicle Wreck on 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa, Major Injuries Sustained

 
COSTA MESA, CA (December 4, 2018) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a traffic collision Tuesday afternoon on northbound 405 Freeway at Bristol Street on-ramp.
 
The collision happened around 4:45 p.m. involving a civilian motorcycle, a red Volkswagen sedan and a white Toyota Camry.
 
Costa Mesa police responded to the scene and located the involved vehicles blocking the first and HOV lanes. The rider was down on the roadway with major injuries.
 
Paramedics also arrived and took the rider to a hospital for treatment of a possible broken leg.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
 
Due to the smaller size of motorcycle vehicles, it is important to be on the lookout for riders while driving. Always make sure it is safe by checking your side mirrors and blind spots before making a lane change.
