Passenger Injured in Corsicana Fatal Vehicle Collision
Corsicana, TX (June 24, 2023) – At about 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, Cory Campbell, 14, Madison Acker, 16, and Jeremy Price, 35, were killed in an FM 709 vehicle crash.
Similarly, Price, the driver who is not related to the kids was not wearing his seatbelt either.
Moreover, another teen who was wearing a seatbelt is recovering from injuries.
Officers said that the driver of a northbound Ford Mustang lost control, veered off into the ditch, and struck a culvert. The vehicle flew in the air where it rolled multiple times and slammed into a power pole.
Moreover, according to Texas DPS, Campbell and his cousin, Acker, were both ejected out of the backseat of the Mustang and both died in the accident.
Price was also ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead. He was also not wearing his seatbelt.
The 15-year-old boy in the passenger seat was the only one wearing his seatbelt and survived the accident. He is Cory’s half-brother. He is at Children’s Medical in Dallas. Officers said that he was able to talk after the accident. He is suffering from multiple broken bones.
Moreover, the authorities say speed is a factor in the FM 709 vehicle crash and part of the ongoing investigation, and a toxicology report will be done on the driver.
Sweet Lawyers extends our condolences to the bereaved Cory Campbell, Madison Acker, and Jeremy Price. Our hearts are with you through these trying times.
Fatal Accidents Happen
We at Sweet Lawyers understand that losing a loved one in a traffic crash is painful.
More so, if it is to deal with the legalities of a wrongful death case, in situations like the FM 709 vehicle crash, you need the help of legal experts to fight for you and to get the justice your loved one truly deserves.
The benefit of getting yourself a wrongful death attorney is that they will help you get compensation for the economic and non-economic damages incurred as a result of the death.
However, know that with a wrongful death case, there is a time limit on which the bereaved can take legal action. These restrictions are called the statute of limitations and only allow you to file a wrongful death lawsuit within a certain amount of time. When these expire, the legal claim is no longer valid and the loved ones can no longer file a lawsuit. Thus, it is crucial to know and understand these time limitations, as they vary from state to state and case to case.
