57-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Crash on California and Yuba Street in Redding

 
Redding, CA (June 28, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a 57-year-old construction worker sustained injuries after being struck by a Toyota Camry at the intersection of California Street and Yuba Street.
 
The crash in Redding happened at 1:33 p.m. on June 28.
 
Redding Police Department said a 39-year-old woman from Anderson was driving a Toyota Camry and stopped eastbound on Yuba Street .
 
The driver then proceeded to make a left onto California Street without knowing that portion was open to southbound traffic only.
 
Moreover, she attempted to veer away from oncoming traffic and drove through a chain-link fence, and struck the construction worker inside the fence.
 
EMS then took the man to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries.
