Officer Joshua Castellano Killed, Robert Ferraro Arrested in Las Vegas DUI Crash
Las Vegas, NV (September 18, 2021) – On Friday, 35-year-old Joshua Castellano, a police officer in New Haven, CT., dies, while police arrested 34-year-old Robert Ferraro, also a police officer, in a DUI crash on Spring Mountain Road.
The fatal crash took place in the morning at Decatur Boulevard.
Investigating officers said Ferraro was westbound on Spring Mountain Road when he lost control of his Rolls Royce.
The Rolls Royce crashed with a car that was waiting in a private driveway to enter the road.
Afterwards, the Rolls Royce crashed with several utility roles, trees and a fire hydrant.
Ferraro’s vehicle overturned and ejecting Castellano from the vehicle.
Immediately, responders took Castellano to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit where he died.
Reports said Castellano was seated in the front seat and four others were also in the vehicle during the incident.
Officers arrested Ferraro with DUI and reckless driving.
Joshua Castellano is a 7-year veteran of the police department. He was assigned to the shooting task force.
