Motorcycle and Pickup Truck Collision Near Santa Maria Airport Left 1 Man Hospitalized

 
Santa Maria, CA (May 25, 2020)– On Tuesday, a collision near Santa Maria airport involving a motorcycle was reported.
 
The collision took place on May 19 around 1:15 p.m. at the corner of Skyway and Auto park drives. According to the reports, the collision was between a motorcycle and a red pickup truck.
 
Natalie Reed, 39 of Orcutt, witnessed the incident and cooperated with the police. She said that the male motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Skyway Drive. At the same time, the pickup truck was at the intersection of Auto Park Drive where the two vehicles collided.

As a result, the motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle and landed at the front of the truck. After that, the man fell onto the road.
 
American Medical Response brought the man to an area hospital for treatments. Along with them, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department units and Santa Maria police and fire departments also responded to the scene.
 
As of the moment, there was no update to the truck driver’s condition. However, Reed said that he was also transported to the hospital.
 
Furthermore, the motorcycle was totally wrecked due to the impact of the collision. Meanwhile, the pickup truck’s driver side fender and wheel well sustained some damages.
 
Santa Maria Police Department spokesperson could not be immediately reached for further details of the crash.
