Bicyclist Cody Davis Severely Injured in Waller Street Hit-and-Run Crash [Austin, TX]

37-Year-Old Man Hospitalized in Austin Traffic Accident

Austin, TX (March 16, 2023) – On Friday, Cody Davis, 37, who moved from Hawaii last year, sustained serious injuries following a Waller Street hit-and-run crash.

The traffic accident took place around 6 p.m. near East 4th Street.

Investigating officers said the victim was almost at work when he was struck by a car that fled the scene.

Davis managed to walk a couple of hundred feet to the Japanese barbecue restaurant where he works.

His manager said he seemed okay at first but Davis began sweating, slurring his words, and he struggled to walk. They rushed Davis to Dell Seton Medical Center, where doctors determined suffered from severe brain injury.

Travis Davis, the victim’s brother said the doctors did not think he was going to survive the surgery. 

Luckily, Davis survived, had part of his skull removed and managed 83 staples in his head.
