Clay Starr Dies, Others Injured in Vehicle Crash on North Arcadia Avenue [Tucson, AZ]

61-Year-Old Clay Starr Killed in Crash on North Arcadia Avenue

 
Tucson, AZ (January 19, 2021) – On Sunday, 61-year-old Clay Starr died while others were injured in a vehicle crash on North Arcadia Avenue and East Pima Street.
 
Authorities responded to the crash report at around 8:45 a.m. involving two vehicles and a Sun Tran bus.
 
When responders arrived, Tucson Fire medics were already on scene rendering aid to Starr, the driver of a Blue 2006 GMC Sierra.
 
However, Starr still died at the scene. Authorities have notified his kin.
 
Meanwhile, rescuers took three other occupants to Tucson Medical Center and Saint Joseph’s Hospital for minor injuries.
 
Similarly, the rescuers treated the remaining individuals at the scene.
 
Furthermore, detectives determined that Starr was driving southbound on North Arcadia Avenue. Then, when he approached the intersection, he continued through the intersection and failed to at the stop sign.
 
As a result, his vehicle crashed with the Sun Tran bus that was traveling westbound on East Pima Street in the curb lane.
 
Furthermore, the driver of a Black 2001 Ford Expedition traveling westbound on East Pima Street drifted to avoid the accident. However, it crossed the eastbound lanes and struck a building.
 
Authorities said Starr’s failure to stop for the stop sign appears to be a contributing factor in the accident.
 
Moreover, police did not charge anyone in this accident as of yet. Though, they continue to investigate the incident.
