Toyota Driver Hospitalized in HWY 84 Fatal Crash
Nolan County, TX (October 19, 2023) – 62-year-old Claude Kimmel of San Antonio was killed while another driver was injured following a Highway 84 collision Wednesday.
The authorities responded to the 2-vehicle crash at about 3:03 p.m. on October 18 less than half a mile northeast of Roscoe.
Investigators stated that a Dodge car driven by Claude Kimmel was northbound on Business Highway 84 84 in the eastbound lane while a Toyota was eastbound on US 84.
Kimmel failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the Toyota at the intersection.
Responding officers declared Joseph Kimmel deceased at the scene while the Toyota driver was transported to a hospital with serious incapacitating injuries.
Officers said both drivers were wearing seatbelts and driving in clear dry road conditions.
The authorities are still investigating.
