Adam Barooshian Arrested on Fatal DUI Head-On Crash on Highway 76 in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK, CA (January 1, 2019) – A man riding a motorcycle was killed following a DUI head-on crash early New Year’s Day in Fallbrook, authorities said.

The fatal crash happened around 3:47 a.m. on westbound Highway 76 at Ramona Drive.

According to police, a 29-year-old Christopher Williams was heading home from work on his motorcycle when he was struck head-on by a wrong-way Lexus car, driven by Private Adam Daniel Barooshian, 25, a Camp Pendleton Marine.

Several bystanders stopped and called 911 to report the accident. Responding paramedics pronounced Williams dead at the scene.

Barooshian was transported by ambulance to Palomar Medical Center with minor scratches. He was later arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

At the time of the crash, Barooshian was on probation for drunken driving. In December, he had pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge in San Diego.

Williams was married to Oceanside public safety dispatcher Sarah Williams. The couple has two sons, 8-year-old Johnathon and 5-year-old Nathan.

The police association is hoping to raise funds to help the family.

A GoFundMe page called The Sarah Williams Family has been set up for people wishing to donate to the family. Donors who prefer to write a check can make it out to the Oceanside Police Officers’ Association, and put “for the Sarah Williams family” in the note section.
