BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 11, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, Christopher Lewis Durr died in a crash on Copus Road and SR 99.
 
The head-on crash involving a Kia Rio and a tractor-trailer hauling asphalt happened about 2:10 p.m. According to reports, it occurred on Copus Road, west of SR 99.
 
According to the CHP, Christopher Lews Durr of Lancaster drove his Kia Rio west on Copus Road. Then, he drove into the eastbound lane for an unknown reason. Meanwhile, the tractor trailer’s driver headed east. Then, the two vehicles crashed head-on.
 
As a result, Durr died in the crash. Meanwhile, the tractor-trailer driver, a woman in her 30s, suffered moderate injuries. Responders took her to the hospital.
 
Also, the impact led the tractor-trailer to overturn and the asphalt was spilled onto the roadway.
 
Thus, the road will remain closed while crews clean up the crash scene.
