Passenger Christopher Lee Killed, Humza Zahoor Arrested in San Francisco Accident on Bay Bridge
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 18, 2021) – On Sunday, a motorcyclist named Christopher Lee, 20, died in a dirt bike crash on Bay Bridge in San Francisco, California.
According to authorities, at around 5:00 p.m., a small group of motorcyclists splintered from the large group consisting of several motorcyclists.
CHP responded to the reports to make sure that the group would not do stunts.
Furthermore, motorcyclists began traveling in the wrong direction, toward the Sterling onramp and 4th Street exit, after seeing the officers at the foot of the Bay Bridge.
One of the motorcyclists collided with a vehicle and fled, riding in another vehicle. Then, the same motorcycle traveled westbound, exiting the bridge via the Treasure Island ramp.
Afterward, the motorcyclist and the passenger attempted to head to the north side of the bridge, just beyond the ramp.
When CHP officers approached where they were, they attempted to re-enter the westbound lanes by jumping the concrete wall.
Then, Mr. Lees was ejected from the motorcycle into the eastbound fast lane at the east end of the tunnel. Shortly after, a pickup truck struck and killed the ejected passenger.
The dirt bike rider was apprehended and arrested by police officers, according to CHP.
Humza Zahoor, 20, has been booked into San Francisco County Jail.
Authorities recorded at least two incidents involving officers being injured.
