Juan Diaz-Pascasio and Others Injured in Adelanto Fatal Crash
Adelanto, CA (September 19, 2022) – On Sunday, Christopher Dixon, 35, of Adelanto, died, while Juan Diaz-Pascasio, 33, of Victorville, sustained injuries in a rear-end crash on Highway 395.
The fatal collision happened at about 6:11 p.m. in the area of Auburn Avenue.
Officers say Christopher Dixon was stopped on the freeway northbound lane waiting to turn left onto Auburn Avenue.
At the same time, David Gillis, 49, of Georgia, was driving a 2015 Toyota Tundraon the same lane and rear-ended Christopher Dixon’s 1995 Chevrolet Caprice.
The impact of the crash pushed Christopher Dixon’s vehicle into the southbound lane. Then, it was broadsided by a southbound 2020 Dodge Durango, driven by Juan Diaz-Pascasio before it overturned.
Sadly, Christopher Dixon lost his life at the scene.
Moreover, Juan Diaz-Pascasio and several of his passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries. The paramedics transported them to hospitals for treatment.
Police say David Gillis did not sustain injuries from the collision.
According to the authorities, “at this time, alcohol, drugs, and excessive speed do not appear to be a factor in the collision. However, distracted driving is suspected to be a factor. The report will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and filing of charges.”
