70-year-old Pedestrian Hurt in Accident on North Broadway, Suspect Arrested

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 24, 2020) – Authorities arrested Christopher David Smith for a hit-and-run crash on North Broadway Street.
 
The LAPD revealed that a 2003-2006 Mercedes Benz C230 with dealer-issued plates hit the woman about 5:00 p.m. They added that the crash took place on North Broadway and College Street in Chinatown.
 
After the preliminary investigation, the Central Traffic Division officers determined that the driver stopped for a while. However, the driver still escaped the crash scene.
 
“The driver failed to stop, remain at the scene, render aid and identify themselves as required by law,” an LAPD spokesperson revealed. “The pedestrian sustained multiple blunt-force trauma injuries because of the collision.”
 
Then, the Los Angeles Fire Department took the female victim to a local hospital in critical condition.
 
According to police, the suspect, Christopher David Smith, was discovered through a tip.
