Edgar Delgado Arrested for DUI in Fatal Car Crash Near Lake Tahoe
TRUCKEE, CA (January 13, 2018) – Three vehicles were involved in a fatal accident on State Route 267 just south of Highlands View Road, around 7 AM on Saturday morning.
Edgar Delgado, 21-year-old man of Tahoe, was driving his 2012 Audi southbound on State Route 267 near the Northstar Ski Resort in Truckee, when he crossed over the double yellow lines into the northbound lanes and side-swiped a 2015 Toyota SUV.
Delgado continued to drive further into the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a 2008 Subaru. The driver of the Subaru, 35-year-old Christopher Anderson of Kings Beach was killed from the impact of the head-on collision, says officer Pete Mann.
The Kings Beach woman driving the Toyota was uninjured, while Delgado was transported to the Renown Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries and trauma.
CHP believes that alcohol played a role in this fatal incident. Reports indicate that Delgado is charged for DUI and will be taken into custody when released from the hospital. Details on his condition have not been released.
