FERNDALE, WA (June 19, 2020) – Early Thursday afternoon, Christine Seyl died in a bicycle crash on Slater Road and Ferndale Road.

The crash, involving a passenger car and a bicyclist, occurred on Slater Road and Ferndale Road around 2:25 p.m.

Many witnesses reported that a passenger vehicle crashed with a bicycle rider in the eastbound lane of Slater Road.

As a result, 71-year-old bicyclist, Christine Seyl of Bellingham, succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.

According to early reports, it was a Ferndale woman driving an eastbound 2009 Honda Accord who crashed into Christine Seyl.

The WSP investigators revealed that the speed limit in the crash scene was 50 mph. As a result of the crash, the Honda sustained damages and a towing service removed it from the scene.
