Elderly Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision near Cabana Drive
LAS VEGAS, NV (December 27, 2019) – Authorities arrested two people, identified as Chris Williams and Francisco Ramirez, after a fatal crash on East Desert Inn Road on Friday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened near Cabana Drive around 6:08 PM.
Reports show that an elderly male was pulling his 2004 Nissan Maxima out of a gated complex. There, his Nissan collided with a Chevrolet Silverado and a Dodge Challenger, both headed east on Desert Inn. The Nissan was then pushed into a nearby sidewalk and fence as a result of the impact.
The driver of the Nissan died on scene. The drivers of the Challenger and Silverado sustained only minor injuries and were taken to Sunrise Hospital for treatment.
It is determined that the driver of the Challenger, 28-year-old Williams of Las Vegas, and the Silverado driver, 19-year-old Ramirez, sped excessively at 80 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. As a result, police arrested both the drivers for reckless driving involving death.
