Man Fatally Struck by Train at Sutro Street and 4th Street
RENO, NV (January 13, 2020) – A man was hit and killed by a train early Monday morning in Reno, authorities said.
The fatal incident happened around 4:30 a.m. at Sutro Street and 4th Street.
According to Reno police, a Union Pacific train struck the pedestrian, who died at the scene. The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man as Chris Nolte, 52, of Reno.
Nearby roads were temporarily closed after the crash, but have since reopened.
The cause and manner of the crash are still under investigation.
