Officer Injured in Auto Accident on 18th Street in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 6, 2020) – Thursday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer sustained injuries after he was struck by a car on 18th Street.
 
First responders arrived to the scene near V Street, after receiving multiple 911 calls.
 
Reports indicate that the officer was patrolling the area when a driver failed to yield at a stop sign. As a result, the vehicles eventually collided at the intersection.
 
The impact pushed the patrol vehicle into several parked cars. Meanwhile, the driver of the car escaped his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
 
Shortly after, authorities located and arrested the suspect.
 
Medical responders took the officer to an area hospital for further treatment. He was reportedly left with multiple injuries as a result of the collision.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating the incident. Once available, more details will be given.
