1 Dead in Yuba City Auto Accident on El Margarita Road and State Highway 20
YUBA CITY, CA (June 4, 2024) – Sunday night, a devastating car crash on El Margarita Road involved Chloe Tokuno-Fraley.
The incident happened at about 8:42 p.m. at the intersection of El Margarita Road and State Highway 20.
When Yuba City Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they found that a white Honda Crosstour, driven by 39-year-old Tokuno-Fraley, had failed to stop at a stop sign on El Margarita Road and proceeded to make a right turn around a raised center median. She then began driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of State Highway 20. Tokuno-Fraley, who had a 4-year-old girl in the back seat, collided head-on with a westbound Ford F150.
The Ford F150 had six occupants, five of whom were transported to Adventist Rideout Hospital. Unfortunately, one of these passengers, a 27-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries. The remaining occupants sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger was taken to Sutter Roseville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tokuno-Fraley and the 4-year-old girl were also taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, with Tokuno-Fraley going to Sutter Roseville Hospital and the child to U.C. Davis Hospital. Police suspect she may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, though the investigation is still ongoing.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
