FRESNO, CA (May 23, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a child was injured in a startling pedestrian crash on Orchard Avenue and Michigan Avenue.
The incident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. on Orchard Avenue and Michigan Avenue, in front of Birney Elementary.
Authorities reported that a nine-year-old boy while being dropped off at school, was hit by a car as he ran across the street. The child, who was not using a crosswalk, suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver involved is cooperating fully with the investigation, and police have confirmed that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the incident.
