Boy Hospitalized in El Monte 2-Car Collision

 
EL MONTE, CA (January 20, 2020)— A 12-year-old boy suffered critical injuries in Saturday’s hit-and-run crash at Garvey and Lexington Avenue.
 
According to officials, the two-car crash unfolded around 9:30 p.m. It appears a Toyota Sienna minivan and Chevy Suburban SUV collided under unclear circumstances.
 
The boy was ejected from the minivan and brought to a local hospital in critical condition. Another person also suffered injuries of unknown severity.
 
Authorities at the scene learned that the driver of the SUV fled the scene. Officials plan to determine his or her whereabouts and encourage witnesses to come forward.
