Police Investigate a Head-On Crash on Highway 162 in Covelo

Covelo, CA (July 22, 2021) – Thursday evening, a 5-year-old child sustained injuries after a head-on crash on Highway 162 about 24 miles east of Hwy 101.

The crash in Covelo happened at around 6:22 p.m. on July 22, just west of Covelo near Inspiration Point.

According to reports, a Honda Ridgeline and a white Chevy Traverse crashed head-on. 

As a result, an air ambulance responded to the scene to assist with a five-year-old child with chest injuries. Another child needed an evaluation.

Moreover, one patient, against medical advice, refused to be taken in the ambulance.

Police continue to further investigate the cause of the crash.
