1 Dead in Kirkland Car Accident on 405 Freeway
KIRKLAND, WA (September 12, 2019) – A man died after a car struck him while changing a flat tire on 405 Freeway on September 10.
WSP revealed that the victim’s car had a flat tire in the southbound lanes of 405 Freeway near NE 132nd Street about 11:00 p.m. When Chester Mena came out and changed the left rear tire in the shoulder, another passing car came and struck him.
37-year-old Chester Mena of Elko, NV died at the scene.
Moreover, the suspect driver continued driving and still at large. Troopers are still looking for more information on the hit-and-run driver and vehicle. The said driver will face felony hit-and-run or vehicular homicide charges once captured.
The freeway reopened just before 4:00 a.m.
