2 Dead in Cape Girardeau County Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 72
CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (October 17, 2024) – Wednesday, Charles and Sheba Davis died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 72.
The incident involving three vehicles occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Highway 72, east of Millersville.
The MSHP reported that 84-year-old C. Davis and 87-year-old S. Davis, both from Jackson, were involved in a crash and later died at a local hospital. A third person was injured in the crash and also received treatment at a nearby hospital.
According to reports, C. Davis was driving northbound on Hwy. 72 when he crossed the center lane and collided head-on with two other vehicles. Davis’ car was totaled, and the other two vehicles sustained significant damage.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
