Huntington Beach, CA (June 05, 2021) – On Monday, 26-year-old Chanel Garcia of Newport Beach was injured, and police arrested 26-year-old Christopher Johnstone of Costa Mesa, in Beach Boulevard DUI crash.
 
The fatal crash took place minutes before 6 p.m. north of Liberty Drive.
 
Authorities said Garcia was southbound on her motorcycle when she slowed for a traffic signal.
 
Just then, she was rear-ended by an SUV driven by Johnstone who failed to yield.
 
Johnstone stayed on scene and cooperated with officers. They arrested him after police suspected he was driving under the influence of drugs.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating the fatal incident.
 
Jail records show Johnstone was released on unspecified bail from jail Thursday.
