1 Hurt and 1 Arrested after Corona Motorcycle Crash on 91 Freeway

CORONA, CA (June 22, 2020) – Early Friday night, Chain Arunritthirot was hurt in a hit-and-run crash on the 91 Freeway.

The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of 911 Freeway, west of 15 Freeway. According to reports, a minivan driver hit a motorcycle rider, and didn’t stop.

The California Highway Patrol later arrested 25-year-old George Valentin for felony hit-and-run on Saturday. A video revealed his involvement. The authorities booked him at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

Chain Arunritthirot, the motorcycle rider, revealed that he fell around 200 feet away from the crash on the 91 Freeway. He was still confused about what had transpired.

Further Details about the 91 Freeway Crash

Despite the motorcycle being attached to the vehicle, Valentin continued driving until he crashed into a fence. Afterward, he fled on foot into a drainage wash. However, witnesses attempted to stop him before losing sight of the suspect.

“I was like oh this guy did try to kill me!” Arunritthirot revealed. “I feel like it was intentional, like he hunted me down.”

Arunritthirot did not sustain serious injuries in the crash. However, he suffered pain in his arms and legs.

CHP believes that the motorcyclist traveled at around 65 mph when the minivan going 70 mph struck him.

At this time, the police ruled out alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash. Thus, the CHP continues to investigate the incident. Moreover, they urge any witnesses to contact the Accident Investigation Unit at 951-637-8000 with any information.

Weaving in and out of lanes is dangerous. Always stay at your lane and be aware of the presence of other motorists around you. Pay attention and consider small vehicles like motorcycles because these are more prone to road accidents than bigger vehicles.

What Follows a Motorcycle Crash

NHTSA estimates that helmets saved the lives of 1,872 motorcyclists in 2017. If all motorcyclists had worn helmets, an additional 749 lives could have been saved.

If you’re a motorist, involvement in an accident can be stressful. Thus, having legal representation can help alleviate some stress through compensation for medical bills, loss of earnings, future medicals, pain, suffering, and more.
