Cedrick Smith III Dies in Rollover Crash on State Route 58 [Boron, CA]

31-Year Old Cedrick Smith III of Fresno Killed in Crash on State Route 58

 
Boron, CA (February 26, 2021) – On Tuesday, 31-year-old Cedrick Smith III of Fresno died in a rollover crash on State Route 58.
 
The deadly vehicle crash happened at approximately 12:20 p.m. west of the Boron Avenue off-ramp.
 
A white 2011 Hyundai Elantra driven by Smith was westbound on Highway 58 when for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and overturned.
 
Then, the vehicle rested on its wheels in the center divider of the highway.
 
Smith has 51-year old Doris Drume and three small children ranging from 4 to 7 years old inside his vehicle when the accident happened.
 
Unfortunately, Smith was thrown from the vehicle due to no safety restraints. On the other hand, Drume was wearing a seatbelt. It is unknown if any of the children were restrained during the crash.
 
Meanwhile, rescuers immediately arrived at the scene. Two airships transported the victims to an area hospital.
 
Smith was pronounced dead upon arrival at Tehachapi Hospital due to the injuries he sustained from the crash.
 
There is no update on the condition of the other victims.
 
A.V. Towing out of Lancaster was dispatched removed the vehicle from the center divider.
 
Similarly, Mojave CHP continues to investigate the accident.
