KENNEWICK, WA (November 16, 2021) – Monday morning, Cassandra Welch and a 9-month-old child suffered injuries in a crash on State Route 240.
 
The single-vehicle incident occurred just after 1:00 a.m. According to reports, 22-year-old Cassandra Welch from West Richland drove east on SR 240, on the ramp to northbound SR 395.
 
Then, she lost control of her vehicle and went off the road. Afterward, the vehicle hit a Jersey barrier, then crossed all lanes and hit a guardrail.
 
As a result, Cassandra Welch and a 9-month-old infant both sustained injuries and required hospitalization. Also, officers confirmed that both occupants weren’t wearing seatbelts.
