CASCADE, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 273 at Happy Valley Road

Fatal Bicycle Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 273 in Cascade

 
CASCADE, CA (January 13, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed following a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in Cascade.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:21 a.m. on southbound Highway 273, just South of Happy Valley Road.
 
According to an initial report by the CHP, a vehicle struck the bicyclist, sending the victim down in the middle of the roadway. Another vehicle, a sedan, also hit the biker while down on the road and continued southbound on the highway.
 
The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
 
All southbound lanes of Highway 273 were shut down while authorities documented the incident.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still investigating the incident and on the lookout for the hit-and-run driver.
