67-Year-Old Half Moon Bay Man Dies in Accident on State Route 84

 
HALF MOON BAY, CA (December 10, 2018) – On Monday evening, a 67-year-old man identified as Carlos Ronquillo from Half Moon Bay died in a two-car collision on Highway 1.
 
According to officials, the accident was reported at 6:02 PM, in the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 84. California Highway Patrol officials stated that 34-year-old Allen Renz of Los Pinos was driving a 2015 Ford F350 carrying a trailer, westbound on Highway 84. He turned onto southbound Highway 1, where his vehicle collided with Ronquillo’s 2008 Ford F150.
 
As per reports, Ronquillo was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, and suffered critical injuries. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene upon arrival. No other injuries were reported in the collision
 
Lanes on Highway 1 were closed from both directions until about 10:30 PM. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the accident. CHP is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Officer Adriel Escalera at (605) 369-6261. No other information has been released to the public, as the investigation continues.
