Always plan for a sober ride. Ensure you have a plan for a safe ride home. If you’re the designated driver, it’s crucial to take that responsibility seriously and never consume alcohol or drugs before getting behind the wheel.
Key Safety Tips to Remember:
- Never drink and drive.
- Don’t allow anyone who’s been drinking to drive.
- If you’re hosting a gathering, make sure everyone has a safe, sober way to get home.
- Call 911 if you spot a drunk driver on the road.
- Always wear your seatbelt. It’s your best defense in case of an accident.
Even a single drink can affect your ability to drive safely. Alcohol and drugs impair your coordination, judgment, and reaction time, putting you and others at serious risk. Impaired driving is a leading cause of accidents, injuries, and fatalities. By choosing not to drink and drive, you contribute to the safety of everyone on the road.
