2 Dead and 2 Hurt in Flagstaff Auto Accident on Highway 89
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (June 24, 2020) – Friday afternoon, a car crash on Highway 89 killed Asa Grahams and Valery Blood.
Highway Patrol public information officer Bart Graves said that the police responded about 4:00 p.m. They came to U.S. Highway 89 near milepost 450 after receiving reports of a two-vehicle crash.
21-year-old Asa Graham of Henderson NV drove a Chevrolet Malibu south on Highway 89. However, as he drove across the centerline, he crashed with a northbound Chevrolet Silverado.
The impact left Asa Grahams with fatal injuries. Meanwhile, a 45-year-old Silverado passenger, Valery Blood of Durango also died at the scene.
Furthermore, the 23-year-old Silverado driver and a 16-year-old female passenger, Braisy Blood, both sustained injuries. Responders transported them to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The identity of the injured victims remains unreleased at this time.
Graves also said that the crash, that shut down the road until 8:00 p.m., remains under investigation.

The police also confirmed that Graham wore a shoulder and lap belt. The Silverado driver also wore a lap belt while Braisy Blood wore a shoulder and lap belt.
According to Graves, Blood wore the “lap portion of her seat belt but was not properly wearing the shoulder portion.”
Moreover, the Blood’s family set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for the medical bills of Valery’s daughter, Braisy Blood.
