Early Morning Collision in Calipatria Sends 1 to Hospital

CALIPATRIA, CA (May 9, 2019) – One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Calipatria.

The crash happened around 12:23 a.m. at the intersection of Brandt Road and West Eddins Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Ford Bronco collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons. As a result, one occupant was injured and the Ford sustained major front-end damage.

Paramedics arrived and took the patient to Pioneers Memorial Hospital for proper treatment. Towing services were requested to remove the damaged vehicle from the crash site.

The extent of injuries sustained and the condition of the victim were not immediately available.

An investigation is still ongoing to determine who was at fault and to gather all the factors involved in the accident.

Despite how clear the roads may seem, speeding on roadways is extremely dangerous. Going at high rates is irresponsible and unsafe. Oftentimes, other vehicles may not be able to react in time to prevent a potentially fatal crash. Therefore, it is important to remember to maintain safe speeds at all times.
