Caitlin Leedy and Anthony Sanchez Killed in High-Speed Collision on State Route 29 [San Joaquin County, CA]

San Joaquin County, CA (June 3, 2023) – On May 20, Caitlin Leedy, 27, of Stockton, and Anthony Sanchez, 28, also of Stockton, lost their lives in a high-speed collision on State Route 29.

The traffic collision happened at about 1:55 a.m. south of Whitehall Lane.

The accident report said the red 2012 BMW 325i driven by Sanchez was accelerating south on the freeway at speeds over 120 mph when he lost control and swerved into the northbound lane. The vehicle then slammed into a sign on the east shoulder of the road before it overturned.

Sanchez and his front passenger, Leedy, were declared dead at the scene.

The two back passengers were transported to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa with moderate injuries.

Moreover, the CHP is investigating the SR 29 deadly collision, though witness statements from the passengers stated Sanchez was driving under the influence.
